Hi JM,

In principle disabling the converter is enough. But just not to have the balancer looping without anything to do you can also disable it by doing:
eos space config default space.balancer=off

Hi Elvin,

We still have to upgrade from version 4.5.x, and we will face similar situation. I know about this converter fact, but currently I know that the converter is used only by the group balancer, not by the balancer within a group. Has that changed with the newer versions, i.e. do you confirm that plain balancer now also uses the converter ?

Hi Franck,

You are totally right, the balancer inside a group does not use the converter so you are safe from this point of view. The balancer between groups uses the converter. This does not change in new releases. Just putting the converter to “off” is enough, you don’t need to touch anything else.
